Our History

In 1881, brand founder Daniel Haynes began making mattresses for his relatives and friends. At the time, he lived in a small town in Texas, USA, called "Sealy," and thus the name "Sealy Mattress" was born.

The company "Sealy of Australia" initially operated under the name Madad, headquartered in Brisbane, Australia, as a wholly-owned company.

In the early stages of the brand's development, the company manufactured various types of furniture in addition to producing mattresses.

Sealy collaborated with orthopedic experts to jointly develop the industry's first specialized mattress providing proper spinal support.

In the 1960s, Madad was granted a license by Sealy Inc. of the USA and officially began producing Sealy brand products.

Subsequently, Sealy of Australia proudly launched the first Sealy Posturepedic® spinal-support collection, which completely transformed the sleep habits of Australians.

Sealy mattresses became the number one selling mattress brand in Australia.
Today, this title still remains unshaken.

Sealy officially entered the Hong Kong market, introducing the world-renowned Sealy quality sleep experience to the local area for the first time.

The Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong officially opened and chose Sealy mattresses. Subsequently, we launched the Hotel Deluxe mattress produced according to the hotel's comfort standards, bringing top-tier hotel enjoyment into homes and winning the love of users. Since then, Sealy has become synonymous with "top-tier hotel mattresses."

Selected by the largest five-star hotel group in Macau, becoming the first-choice mattress brand for luxury hotels in the area ever since

Sealy Wan Chai flagship store grandly opens, providing customers with a more comprehensive and distinguished bedding shopping space.

Sealy Australia has officially established the "International Orthopedic Advisory Board (Orthopedic Advisory Board)" to ensure that the research and development guidelines of Posturepedic® are in line with modern medical practice and to obtain professional authoritative certification.

Sealy Asia Pacific has created the largest mattress R&D base in the Southern Hemisphere.

A Heritage By Sealy store was set up at HomeSquare in Shatin to showcase the brand's top Heritage series. As Sealy's most luxurious flagship mattress series, Heritage redefines the highest standards of sleep enjoyment.
